Step 3. How to get from the airport to Meribel
There are three ways to get from the airport to Meribell
- Booking a transfer - the easiest method to get to resort
- Hiring a car - gives you the most freedom but can be hard in bad conditions
- Getting the train - the cheapest way, but takes the longest
You can either get a private transfer or a shared transfer, A private transfer will pick you up at the time of your flight arrival, and take you straight to your accommodation. A shared transfer will split the cost amongst you and other holidaymakers, but can be less reliable in the time they pick you up from the airport. There are also shared transfer companies which operate on a scheduled basis which offer cheaper transfers. For small groups of under four, a shared transfer is your cheapest option, but for a larger group of up to 8 people, a private transfer may be better value.

You can also hire a car, which gives you freedom from when you arrive at the airport, and in the resort. You can pre-book, or simply hire when you get to the airport. Whilst an easy method, it can be more difficult to drive in snowy or icy conditions, and traffic can be bad when conditions are bad.
