Why you should stay in Meribel Village

29/05/2019

Meribel Village is one of the three villages in Meribel that has direct access to the slopes. Outside of the main hustle and bustle, it still has a buzz of its own. Here are our top reasons for loving Meribel Village:

It’s one of the prettiest parts of Meribel, made up of traditional Savoyard style chalets. It’s tucked away from the centre, giving you some more peace and quiet, which makes it perfect for families. Meribel Village has everything you could need in one place; a supermarket if you’d rather cook for yourself, a great bakery offering sandwiches and takeaway pizzas, a few bars and restaurants and a ski hire shop. If you are looking for something livelier, then fear not. The Lodge du Village is one of the best apres bars in Meribel, offering different live apres bands everyday, and on Wednesdays the apres continuing until 10pm! The bar is also open at night, hosting various events throughout the week.

It couldn’t be a more convenient location for skiing, as all of the properties are within walking distance of the chairlift, which takes you right to the Altiport area of Meribel. After a day of exploring, there is a winding blue run to take you right into the centre of Meribel Village. If you fancy a change of scenery, you’re only five minutes away from Meribel centre on the free bus.

Top restaurant: The Lodge du Village/Terrasse de Brassiere which has both delicious bar snacks for when you’re on the go, or a more detailed restaurant menu.

Top non-skiing activity: Enjoy the live bands at Lode du Village everyday, whilst soaking up the sun on their terrace.

Our favourite run: The peaceful Lapin piste taking you right through the trees back to Meribel Village.

Our top picks of accommodation:

Apartment Winterfell is newly built and beautifully furnished, just a two minute walk from the Golf chairlift and bus stop.

Apartment Les Fermes is a lovely two-bedroom apartment right on the slopes and with access to a swimming pool.

Apartment Hygge is a great spacious property for up to eight people, practically ski-in/ski-out, and also with access to a swimming pool.
