A guide to Christmas in Meribel

18/09/2019

There is something so magical about spending Christmas on the snowy slopes. Rightly so, it is one of the most popular times of the year to come skiing. Are you looking to book your white christmas getaway? Here’s our top tips on how to best enjoy the festive season:

There’s so much going on in resort during Christmas with plenty of free events put on, such as the torchlit descent, an English carol service in the town centre, or Father Christmas visiting. Make the most of the free events put on and the vin chaud and hot chocolate! On Christmas Day there is normally a mass service held in English speaking Church and even at the ice rink.

One of the best parts of going away for Christmas is not having the responsibility of cooking and hosting. Make the most of it and enjoy one of Meribel’s great restaurants. With so much choice on where to eat your Christmas dinner, make sure you book early to avoid disappointment. La Terasse de Brasserie in Meribel Village, Tsaretta in Les Allues, and La Taverne in Meribel Centre all have great Christmas dinners on each year.

If you want a truly homely Christmas away from home, then why not consider having your Christmas dinner prepared and delivered to your doorstep? We partner with Huski who offer a package Christmas dinner so you don’t have to cook!

But by far the best part of Meribel at Christmas is that the ski lifts operate all day! The atmosphere on the slopes is unbeatable, and you are sure to see a few santas or elves skiing alongside you. Stop off at the Rond Point, or the Lodge du Village for a festive drink on the slopes and join in the festivities!
