A Guide to Meribel Mottaret


Meribel Mottaret is the highest point of the Meribel Valley, at 1750m, so you can benefit from fantastic snow conditions. As it is the most central point of the Three Valleys, you have the best access to other resorts. If you’re a keen skier, or looking to get the most out of your ski pass, then this is the perfect place for you to stay. The slopes around Mottaret itself are also great, if you don’t want to get a pass for the whole Three Valleys. 

Mottaret’s central hub has everything you could need, from supermarkets, restaurants, ski hire and clothes shops, ski schools, a tourist office, night-club and even a cinema! Mottaret is also home to the thrilling Mission Black Forest toboggan run, as well as the luge on the HImalaya piste at night, which is only €12 for the night. If you’re staying with kids, then there is plenty to keep them entertained! There’s plenty to do whilst not skiing, and if you want to explore the restaurants, activities and nightlife of Meribel centre, then you can hop on the free bus service.

Skiing in Meribel Mottaret

Meribel Mottaret is purpose-built for skiers, so wherever you choose to stay, you will be within walking distance of the slopes. So, there’s no need to lug your ski equipment about, and after a hard day of skiing, you can easily make your way back to your accommodation to put your feet up and unwind. Lift passes: There is a lift pass office in the centre of Mottaret, where we recommend you buy your passes, or you can ski down the Truite piste (green) to La Chaudanne and buy them at the central office there. Ski hire

There is a SkiRepublic shop located in the Odalys building in the Le Hameau area of Mottaret.

Other shops: There are plenty of other shops in Mottaret, including supermarkets and bakeries in both Le Chatelet area of Mottaret and Le Hameau area of Mottaret.

There is a luge on the Himalaya piste at night, which is only €12 for the night and is free for children under 11 years old.
